Hey, I just wanted to give you a quick heads up. I tried to point it out in my "Rite Aid Round-Up," but I didn't really come out and say.
Thanks to one of my readers, while I was in shopping at Rite Aid this morning, she was in there too. We seem to have been meeting in there lately. Anyway, she pointed out to me that the Stax Lays Chips are 2 for $2 and part of the promo on back page. Well, anyway, they are providing a $1+Up Rewards, making them essentially FREE!!!
Thanks Wendi!

Not so frugal
Okay, I try REALLY hard to be as frugal (cheap) as I can be, so we have money for other things in our family. So, on our way out this morning to do the Rite Aid trip before Weight Watchers I was going to grab me an orange to have for breakfast at WW after weighing in. As you know I can't eat before facing Mr. Scale. He might just get mad at me and put on some extra numbers I don't want. Well, I forgot to grab my orange......
So, I actually made it to Rite Aid a couple of minutes before they opened, so I went over to Safeway to grab an orange for on-the-cheap. Well.......this little thing was not-so-frugal. It cost me $1! Seriously, this cost more than a couple of my Rite Aid transactions. It was good, but REALLY not worth $1. I guess that is what I get for forgetting my original orange. :(
Oh well, you win some and you lose some.

Albertsons Peanut Butter
Yay, we finally went out yesterday and and picked up our peanut butter....
We love peanut butter and WE LOVE Skippy Peanut butter Reduced-Fat. Here is what I sent my husband out to get yesterday. He picked up 10 smooth reduced-fat and 10 chunky reduced-fat. So, yes, for a total of 20.
I had him do two transactions of 10 on each one so we could get the 500 bonus points for each peanut butter. Just 10 peanut butter alone was 5,000 points, which means $5 Reward coupon! :)
Transaction #1
Skippy Peanut Butter $1.50 X10
-$1/1 Any Skippy from Safeway booklet and MANY friends and family (thanks EVERYONE, we REALLY APPRECIATE it. I owe you BIG TIME) X10
=$5
-$3 Catalina from the Quaker sale
TOOP $2! Plus, we got back a $5 Reward coupon to use on our next order
Transaction #2
Skippy Peanut Butter $1.50 X10
Coupon from back page, making them 2 for $2
=$10
-$5 Reward coupon from previous purchase
TOOP $5! Plus, we got back ANOTHER $5 Reward coupon to use on our next order!
Not too shabby for our favorite peanut butter in the world. Need peanut butter? You can come to my house. :) Actually, I am curious as to how long this is going to last us. I'm thinking it will not last as long as I hope.
Oh, if you are getting quite a few, make sure you watch the dates as some are sooner than later.
Okay, so, of course, I wanted to share with you this awesome deal that we got, but I wanted to share something a little different.
You have heard me say that if you want a lot of something to make sure you order it ahead of time so that way we are not clearing the shelves. Some of you have asked how you do this and what do you do it with. My whole motto is if you are buying quite a bit of "something," and you are not sure you can always call them and ask. I often know ahead of time what is going to be on sale or what the good deals are, so I always make an extra special effort to call and tell them about what I am looking to buy and how much. I did that this week with the peanut butter. I ALWAYS make sure and let them know that I CAN wait. I do not mind at all. So, that is what I did this week. I called early in the week BEFORE the sale started and said that I was looking at buying 20. "Do you have enough for my to buy 20 at once or would you like me to wait?" So, he said he would order me some and that it would be ready for me on Saturday morning. So, I sent my dear ol' hubby to go get it. He goes and finds a manager and there you have it, it was waiting in the back room. Easy peasy.
I strongly suggest that if you want to go this route that you go in and fill out the special request form so that you have a paperwork trail.
Anyway, I hope that helps clear up a few things. :)
Thanks!

So, without my savings or coupons today I would have paid $289.05, but I only paid $8.93!
On a side note, if you have multiple VV accounts did you notice that you are now having to print from different computers? By the way, make sure you double check your VV coupons after printing them. I printed from three different accounts, but some of them "reprinted" from one of my other accounts even though I was logged into one of my other accounts. So, I was thinking I was printing from three separate accounts, but when sitting down and looking at the names and the bar codes some of them were duplicates of coupons I already had. I had noticed that when I was out shopping some other couponers were having the same issue when going up to the cash register. Thank goodness I noticed mine last night. I sure would hate to get up there and have to "redo" and order.
Okay, good luck and have fun. I hope you get what you are looking for. Please feel free to come back and share....
