Local-Christmas Fun

You know I love this! I plug this every year! It really has become a family tradition of ours to go down and ride the FREE horse and carriage ride that STCU puts on every year (they did it this past summer too). My children look forward to it now. So, we wait closer to Christmas, when my dad comes up and we drag my dad down there, freeze our butts off and wait in line to ride the carriage ride through downtown for FREE!!! A word of advice, the location is kind of in the shade, where you have to wait in line sooo take blankets and wrap yourself, your kiddos, your neighbor, whomever in blankets. Your bottom and your feet get real cold. Well.....mine do....Here are the details....(you can go on over here to get more details)

RedBox = "Text Deal"

Do you Redbox? Well, if you do and you have a texting plan for your phone, you might be interested in doing their "Text Deal" promo right now. This promo runs through 8/24. Here's some info that I grabbed from their website....

•How many promo codes can I get on my phone each day?

No matter how many texts you send to redbox during the promotion, you'll only get one promo code sent to your phone on each day that you send one.

•What are the different discounts I might get?
The discount you'll get will either be $0.10, $0.25, $0.50 or $1.00.

•Can I use the promo code for any item (DVD, Blu-ray Disc® or video game)?
Yes! The promo code can be used towards the first-day rental of anything at a redbox kiosk. It's good for a discount off the standard daily rental fee.

•Can I use the promo code when I reserve a rental online or on the redbox app?
Sorry, but the code can only be used at a redbox kiosk.

•Can you email me the code instead?
Sorry, no – 10 Days of Deals is a text-only offer. If you can't participate because you don't have a cell phone with text message capabilities, stay tuned for more great redbox deals & freebies coming soon!

•Can I use more than one online rental credit for the same transaction?
Sorry, no – you can only use one rental credit per transaction.

•Can I use the promo code to buy a used DVD at a redbox kiosk?
Sorry, no – promo codes can only be used for rentals.

•How do I get a promo code by using Foursquare?
Check in on Foursquare at any redbox location between 8/15 and 8/24. Once you do, you'll be given instructions on how to get your promo code

If you are interested and need more info (you should read the fine print, as it talks about the texting charges and whatnot), then go on over here to check it out.

Thanks!

Zumba

Reminder....
Going to Zumba this afternoon (Tuesday), from 1:30 to 2:30. It's here in the valley AND they have FREE childcare too. Let me know if you want to tag-a-long and we can meet up, and I will give you some directions. Maybe you are not ready to tag-a-long and just kinda want to go check it out by yourself, that's fine too. It is at The Intersection (yes, that is the name of the church) on McDonald and Broadway....Oh, the cost is FREE or you can donate a buck or so, as they have a donation jar. Not very many people go to this class, so if you are afraid of a big crowd, this one is probably a GREAT one for you to get started at. Like I have said before, this is an WOMEN ONLY class, and there are women of all different shapes, colors, sizes, capabilities, and needs that attend this class. It is such a welcoming environment, and REALLY fun too! ☺ Also, instructor Angela is AWESOME.

So, if you want to come.....e-mail me and I will get you the info.... frugal mom 1 @ live dot com.

Come on......Come and join THE Zumba party!!!! ☺

Seriously....it is so fun, once you try it you will be hooked. ☺

Old Montana Prison

Well, we had to break the trip up so it wouldn't be so long for our kiddos. So, we decided that we would get out and walk around the Old Montana Prison and have a picnic at the park. It really was soooooo much fun. I was really amazed at how much my kids enjoyed it. Every single one of them enjoyed it. Here are a few pictures I would like to share with you....

This is driving up to the prison. It sure is beautiful.

We are now inside. This is one of the towers the guards used to sit in and watch the prisoners from.

Okay, so the guards were in the towers above. Now, if prisoners went beyond this red "out of bounds" line, then the guards had the option to just "shoot 'em."

This is just a list of prisoner movement. I just thought it was really cool lookin'.

Isn't this kinda creepy. Wanna go get a dental/medical exam here? This was my favorite room. We couldn't go in, but we got to see it from the window. Sooooo awesome looking.

Inside of the Paddy Wagon.

Back of the Paddy Wagon

The kids in one of the actual prison cells.

Okay, so this is kinda cool. Yes, this is my fam. Anyway, there were lots of these tunnels throughout the prison. These were tunnels that the guards would walk through and do whatever they did, but you see that little cubby to the left of the picture, above Faith's head? That is a cubby meant for the guards to put their guns in and shoot or whatever they did with their guns at the prison back in those days. Those cubbies are everywhere throughout the prison.
So, this was a really really cool place to take my family. We all enjoyed it and was was really inexpensive too. It was only $9 for each adult, Trent was $5, and the two little ones were FREE (ages 9 and under are free)!!! So, I went there when I was about Trent's and I still remembered it. It was sooooo cool to be able to take my own family back and do it again. What a treat? Although, I discovered that they say it is haunted, which I waited until after to tell Trent. ☺ I'm sure he would have refused to go in or been upset and scared the whole time. I have to tell you there were a couple of times that I was creeped out, knowing this information, especially down in the solitary confinement cells. Those babies were s-c-a-r-e-y.

So, if you are EVER in the area, go check out the Old Montana Prison.

The admission is good for two days and good for all of their museums. They also have....

■Old Prison Museum – Open daily: 8 am till 6 pm
■Montana Auto Museum – Open daily: 8 am till 6 pm
■Yesterdays Playthings – Open daily: 9 am till 5 pm (Dolls and collectible toys)
■Frontier Montana – Open daily: 9 am till 5 pm
■Desert Johns Saloon - Open daily: 9 am till 5 pm
■Powell County Museum – Open daily: 12 noon till 5 pm
■Cottonwood City – Open daily: 9 am till 5 pm
■Milwaukee Road exhibits

Seriously, we all had so much fun and it was sooooooo family friendly. I definitely would recommend this if you are in the area.

Thanks!
