Toys R Us=Not So Free My Little Pony

Well, I just got back from my trip to Toys R Us (on Broadway and Sullivan) this morning and guess what? They had not one single My Little Pony. They did not have much to begin with, but they were all out. They did, however, have some of the bigger pieces of the My Little Pony toys, but none of the singles. They have a very very small selection of My Little Pony toys. It is on one single endcap.

Just thought I would share with you before you ran out and tried to score some free My Little Pony products.

Thanks!

Pinecone Research

Anyone know about Pinecone Research? Well, I am actually a member and they have openings available. Since I am currently a member, they have asked that I see if there is anyone interested in joining. So, if you are interested, please contact me and I can forward the information to you. This is for a limited time only, so you better hurry. :)

Anyway, it is an online survey company and they actually pay you for most of the surveys you do. They pay a flat rate of $3 per survey. It's not much money, but hey it's $3 to add to your grocery allowance, if you would like! That is what I do. They send you a check right away. There is no waiting for it to add up. Everytime I have done a survey, I get a check for $3 a few days later. They are really quick with sending out their checks. Sometimes, you even get samples of the product that you are doing a survey on.  Anyway.... here is a little info on the program. I highly recommend this program!!!..............

*This is from their Website......PineCone Research is at the forefront of "online research", today's sophisticated and leading-edge approach to gathering consumer opinions. Consumer input is vital to the development of new and improved products.

Traditional survey methods, although effective, can be inconvenient and time consuming. Online research helps solve this dilemma. With online research, you can answer surveys from the comfort and convenience of your own PC and at a time that is convenient for you.

Why You?
As a PineCone Research panelist, you are part of an elite group that represents consumers nationwide. As such, your opinion is very important to manufacturers who count on people like yourself to help predict which product ideas are winners and which are losers.
Joining a new products panel like PineCone Research lets you voice the opinion of households that are similar to yours. You directly influence which products get developed and help ensure that these products meet consumer demands. Your opinion will have an impact on everything from product performance to style, varieties, features, pricing...you name it. Because you represent the target markets manufacturers are trying to reach, they put a lot of faith in what you have to say. We think you'll find the surveys fun and interesting.

It Pays To Join
Your opinion is always worth something to us. We are happy to pay you each time you evaluate a product. You can expect to be called upon to answer a survey once or twice a month.

We will notify you by email of upcoming product surveys.
You will be provided with a password which will enable you to access the survey at a designated website.
We will pay for completed product evaluation surveys.
Occasionally we may ship you a product to test.
Project evaluation surveys average 15 to 20 minutes to complete.
Occasionally we may ask other members of your household to complete a questionnaire if the product is more appropriate for someone in your household other than yourself.
From time to time we may send you a few questions regarding your household. These questions assist us in sending appropriate product surveys to you. For example, we may need households who are pet owners or households who do not have pets. Your voluntary participation in these questionnaires is extremely important.
Remember... you complete all product surveys from the comfort and convenience of your PC.

Okay, there you have it. If you are interested, I have the link to send to you, just e-mail me and I will forward that link to you.

Thanks!

Recipe=Slow Cooked Terriyaki Chicken

This is really really good served over brown rice or bulgar.

2-1/2 lbs of bonless, skinless chicken breast cut into bite-sized cubes
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup of honey
3 cloves whole garlic

Instructions:
Add chicken to slow cooker along with soy sauce, honey, and garlic cloves. Set slow cooker to low and cover. Stir once at about 2 hours into cooking, then cook for additional 2 hours (4 hours total cooking time). Remove garlic cloves and serve.

**I did not make this recipe up myself. Once again, I got it a few years ago from the WW Community Boards.

This makes about 6 one-cup servings at 6 points. I have not had a chance to double check the points on this as I am having problems with the WW site this morning. I will check later and get back to you.

This is really really good and tastes just like Terriyaki chicken.

Thanks!

Target Watch

Here is the scoop on what I have been watching at Target.

I went earlier this week and the "cheapo" pillows were $2.54. I used my $1.50 Target coupon from here and got it for $1. Well, I went yesterday and they raised the price of the pillows to $3.00. That was fine with me though, cause it was still cheap.

Anyway, they also had Dove Shampoo on clearance. You know, the smaller, regular sized bottles for $2.92. So, I used my coupons that I printed last week from e Dove Website and Target Website, getting my bottles for free. So, keep an eye out for those. They also had a bunch of Dove Men's Bodywash on clearance. I cannot remember how much they were, but they did not seem to be a very good deal to me. I am going to keep an eye on those and watch for them to go down in price. I will let you know when I discover that.

Just a couple of good buys that I wanted to share with you all.

By the way, they were out of Connect 4 this morning and only had a few Battleship games. I did manage to get myself a raincheck though to score a free Connect 4.

Have a great weekend!

Recipe=Cream of Wheat Bread

Well, as a WW I really really try hard to get/eat what I want without breaking any WW "rules" and trying to get my weight off. Some "tricks" work and some don't. I try really really hard to stay away from the "bad" carbs. So, yeah, I really don't eat bread. Well, I was looking one day a year or so ago and found this GREAT recipe for bread and I don't even have to use flour. I use Cream of Wheat! Sounds weird, but it tastes soooooooo good. If you are one that is also trying to stay away from the "bad" carbs, I suggest you really give this a try. It is really really good and has absolutely NO FLOUR in it. Yes, you still have to eat it in moderation, but you will get your bread fix. My kids really like this too. In order to get my Cream of Wheat/farina for less expensive, I get mine at Winco in the bulk section. Anyway, here you go........

Cream of Wheat Bread

1-2/3 cups of room temperature water
2 teaspoons of salt
4 cups of Cream of Wheat/farina
1 teaspoon of sugar
2 teaspoons of yeast

Put all ingredients in breadmaker in order listed. Use Basic setting for bread, and medium or dark for crust.

Makes 12 servings.

**I haven't tried it, but I think you can probably get away with adding just a pinch of sugar for the yeast instead of a whole teaspoon. I know we want to keep away from the sugar, but it is needed for the yeast here and it is really a minimal amount.

Thanks to the person who shared this years ago.

I also have other variations of this if you are interested. I have cinnamon rolls, Italian herb bread, directions for hand-made bread, rolls, and pretzels. Just shoot me an e-mail and I will get you the directions, if you would like.

Thanks!

Recipe=Lasagna in Slow Cooker

This is really really tasty and very simple. It is one of our favorite recipes. Okay, here goes...

6 dry lasagna noodles (uncooked). I use whole wheat.
1 pound of the leanest hamburger you can find (brown and drain)
1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
28 ounce jar of spaghetti sauce (I use Hunt's in the can)
1/4 cupof water
16 ounce tub of fat-free cottage cheese
2 cups of shredded fat-free mozzarella cheese

Instructions:
Break the noodles in half. Place half the noodles in bottome of greased 4-quart slow cooker. Sir Italian seasoning into ground beef. Spread half of the ground beef over the noodles. Layer half of the sause and half of the water over beef. Layer half hte cottage cheese over sauce. Layer half the mozzarella cheese over the cottage cheese. Then, you repeat the layers.

Cover and cook on low heat for four to five hours. Do not cook more than five hours or you might have some realy soggy lasagna noodles.

** Once again, this is not my own recipe. I found this one a few years ago on the WW message boards. Much thanks to the person who shared the recipe, as my family and I really enjoy it. I figured this out on weightwatchers.com using the recipe builder at 6 points for a total of 6 servings.

Thanks!

Cheryl

Free Sample of Pantene

Just go become a fan of theirs on Facebook and get a free customized sample of the new Pantene they are coming out with. After you become a fan, I believe you go back to your page and on the right hand side you will see a Pantene link and you can click on that to see if your city qualifies. FYI, Spokane did qualify. I got mine. BUT hurry as it is only "while supplies last."

Go on over here to take a look at La Vida Cheapo's blog. She has some really good Yoke's matchups and also has some information on their "coupon policy." They take competitor coupons at Yokes and she has a posting as to some guidelines to try to follow when using your competitor coupons there.

Check-in begins at 8:15 am
Where: Center Place, 2426 North Discovery Place, Spokane Valley
For more information you can call Darci at 279-9242

The fee is $14 with a T-shirt per individual. Children under 5 are free. There is also an option to register a team for even more money.

The problem is that you have ot register by March 19th (that is two days from now). Go on over here to their website and you can pay online, but send your registration form snail mail.

I did this last year as my very first 5k and it got me hooked. I am going to do it again this year and this time I am taking my kiddos and husband with me. I don't think that I will be my time last year (as I will have a few anchors), but this time it will be a family event. I am soooooo excited. I can't wait!

New Recipe=Undone Stuffed Pepper Casserole

Here is a picture of what I made last night. I always think about taking a picture when it is too late. This time I remembered. I did add sour cream to my casserole.  Look at what I ate for 7 points=3 points for the Ranch on my salad and 4 points for the casserole....

I got this from the new Krafts Foods Friends&Family Magazine that I just got in the mail yesterday. I made a few changes to work with my Weight Watcher lifestyle. If you would like the original, please e-mail and I will get it to you.

Anyway.....

1 lb ground beef
2 green peppers chopped up
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups of cooked bulgur
1 jar of spaghetti sauce (I used Hunt's as it is free in points per serving)
1/2 cup of shredded FF cheddar cheese

Heat oven to 350º. Brown meat with peppers and garlic in large skillet, drain. Stir in bulgar, spaghetti sauce, and 1/4 cup of cheese. Spoon into 2-qt casserole; top with remaining cheese. Bake 25 minutes.

Then, it is done! I calculated this in the WW Recipe Builder and it came back at 4 points. It makes 7 servings!

Thanks!

House Party-DiGiorno Pizza Party

Anybody hear about the House Party Program, the one for DiGiorno? Well, they have "parties" every so often with showcasing certain products. The one that I happened to sign up for was the DiGiorno. Well, guess what? I was approved to host a party. There is no catch, except for I believe I have to do a survey or something after I host my party. I can do that, especially for free pizza and breadsticks! Here is a little info, plus you can go here to get questions to your answers. I don't know all too much about it as this is my first party, but I am sooo excited. Look at the cute littel pizza box that was delivered to my house yesterday....

What is a House Party™?
House Party™ lets people who really love something host a special event featuring a fun, free, exclusive experience sponsored by the world's leading brands.

Cool people sharing cool stuff. A House Party™ is thousands of parties happening across the country on a single day, hosted by people just like you. Each event is sponsored by a leading brand and focuses on something cool–like a new product, hit TV show, or great cause–that the sponsor wants its best fans to experience firsthand and share with their friends. (Check out some of our recent events.)

You host. Everyone wins. House Party lets you share the stuff you like with the people you like, through a fantastic, free party experience. What's the catch? There is none: Our partners understand that if they share something good with the right people in a fun way, we'll all help spread the word.

What's inside the party packs?

Each event has a unique Party Pack filled with all kinds of free stuff to make your party a success. We've thrown all kinds of events: TV Viewing, Wine & Chocolate Pairing, Kid-centric, you name it.

Hosts of some of our recent events have received:*
Advanced copies of TV Shows
Sneak Previews of Movies
Board Games
Action-figures
Gourmet Chocolate
Gourmet Coffee Samples
Coffee Maker

Health & Beauty Products
Baby Products
and much more...
* not all in the same pack

Go over here to sign up, if you are interested.

Here is another picture of the goods that I got yesterday.

It came with 15 $4/1 coupons to share with my friends and family too. Oh, but that is not it, look at what my model is wearing.........

Yes, I even got a really cool DiGiorno apron that my older son (not the one pictured here) is in love with, not this little guy. This one here is my assistant shopper/model (Blakey). Doesn't he look soooo cute?

So, anyway, I know some of you are probably wondering why I would be hosting a DiGiorno Party if I am a WW. Well, let me explain....We are actually going to use this party to celebrate my older son's 11th birthday. Talk about feeding guests the "frugal" way. I will not have to pay for food. Plus, I will be able to make these pizzas and serve these pizzas without even taking a bite. I promise!

Okay, go sign up if you are interested. It seems like a really cool program to take part in.

Thanks House Party!
