Grocery Deal of The Week
I have decided to try something "new." Well, new for me. I am going to try to post at least one grocery deal a week that would be easy for a someone who has just joined us in couponing. I will do a separate posting for a department store deal of the week and will try to do that Sunday or Mondays. I will show you what the price of the item is and where to get your coupon, and how much you "should" spend on it. Now, these are not set in stone as some prices vary from region-to-region or maybe we have different coupons, or even maybe your cashier wouldn't accept it, who knows, there are so many reasons why it could be different, but I will do my best here.
Okay, so for our first one.........

Safeway is the place for our deal of the week.
Kellogg's Cereals (Corn Flakes) are on sale this week for $1 each when you buy 4. It is called the Buy any 4 Save $4.
Corn Flakes X4=$4
Use this coupon, which is Save $1/2 (Save one dollar off of two packages of Kellog's Cereals). You can print this twice.
So, use two of the $1/2
Total is going to be $2 for four boxes of cereal.
Plus you will get back a $3 Catalina (a coupon to use on whatever you would like at Safeway) to use on your next order, at the checkout. SO, YOU JUST MADE MONEY!!! YOU MADE $1!! YEAH!
If you don't like Corn Flakes, they also have some others on sale too, but they are a little higher in price, like Froot Loops and so forth. They are actually $1.50. So, you could use the same coupon, but your out of pocket expense would be a little more.
Thanks!

Target Update
Well, I just got back from Target and this is what I found out. Target on Sprague does not carry the French's Dipping Mustard. I was a bit bummed about that. They have Windex at $1.97 regular price. They still have a TON of Pantene on clearance. Not much other clearance though. I was a bit disappointed. I was still able to walk out of there spending $3.70 for two AirWick Motion thingys (like I need anymore), two packages of BIC pens, two packages of newborn Carter onesies. So, I did pretty good. You need coupons for any of these and I will try to help you out. Just let me know. For now, though, I have to make the assistant (Blakey) some lunch. He requested a jelly sandwich. So, where's the nutrition in that? He was soooo good that I figured I would comply with his request today. So, we are going to have lunch and I will be back in a bit. Just thought I would share what I had discovered this morning.
Thanks!

Target Deal?
I am not sure about the price cut being available in our area, but some blogs are posting that Target has French's Honey Mustard Dipping Sauce $1.49 per bottle until 6/8. You can use the $1/1 from the 4/11 Smart Source and it would only make it $0.49 per bottle. It may be worth checking out. There is also a printable here for $0.75/1.

Don't Eat Pete!
Look at these cute games that Monica over at Fabulessly Frugal gave me permission to share with you all......
What’s up with this weather? I’m not a fan! Although I think warm, sunny days are the only cure for cabin fever, here are a few inside games that might at least add some variety to inside play.
Don’t Eat Pete
What you need: a piece of paper, crayons, and some snacks. Draw 6 different colored squares on the paper and put a treat in each one. You can use goldfish, crackers, 1 fruit snack per square, whatever you have! I used leftover jelly beans from Easter.
Have 1 person close their eyes and decide with the other players which square is “Pete.” Then the person opens their eyes and starts eating a snack from each square, one by one. When they take the treat from the color you have deemed Pete, shout “DON’T EAT PETE!”
The kids love the anticipation. It’s cute to watch them carefully put each one to their mouth, waiting to see whether or not they’re about to eat Pete.
You can adjust the number of squares according to how old your kids are and how many snacks you want them to eat in one shot. This will also depend on the number of times you plan to play. If each child gets 3 turns and eats 4 things each time, that’s 12 snacks per child. If you’re playing with candy, you may only want 4 squares so they don’t eat 12 pieces of candy!
Go To Sleep
All you need for this is kids. And a floor.
Tell the kids to go to sleep. This means they lie on the floor and close their eyes, pretending to sleep. Then say, “When you wake up, be…” and name an animal or an object for them to act out. Here are some we use: a tiger, an airplane, a cat, a dog, a bear, a dinosaur, a tree, a butterfly, etc. You can also tell them to do an action. “When you wake up…” tiptoe softly, skip around the couch, pat your tummy, hop on one foot, etc.
To play this in the car, have the kids close their eyes and when they wake up, they can just make the sounds of the animals or objects you have told them to be.
I think these are just AWESOME and so very cute.
Thanks Fabulessly Frugal, Monica!!
