Well, since I missed yesterday's "product comments," we are going to do two today. Did you all already get an e-mail back from Texas Toast? I did, and I have a coupon on the way to me via snail mail. Yay! Thanks Texas Toast! :)
Okay, so here we go.....
Windex~ I just wanted you to know how much my family enjoys your product. I love how when I use Windex that it leaves no streaks. I use Windex for many things. I EVEN use it to get stains out of my carpet! It is such a great product and I look forward to using it for a long-time. Thanks! Cheryl
Tyson Chicken~ I wanted to share with you how much my family and I enjoy your line of products. We especially like the grilled chicken. It is such a "quick fix" for when we have salads or even just a quick snack. My kids' love the different varieties of breaded chicken! Thank you for such a great, healthy, and easy product! Cheryl
Okay, good luck!

Today
I have to take my two little ones back into the dentist. We went yesterday to have a checkup and it was NOT good. I can tell you that I don't like going to the dentist myself, but I think I dread taking my kids to the dentist more than I don't like going myself. I just never know what we are going to come away with. I always tell my husband that he should have to take off of work and take them. :) It's wayyyyy stressful for me! I'm always ready to breakdown and cry. I know it may sound kind of silly, but I just REALLY can't stand it. I'm sure most of you feel this way. I can't really say that I have met ANYONE that says "I like going to the dentist," or even "I like taking my kids to the dentist." I think that would be way too wierd.
Anyway, I am headed back in this morning with my two littlest people. BOTH HAVE TO HAVE CROWNS DONE! So, I have been working like MAD this morning to help reach my daily budget for work, and then I will be out most of the day. This appointment is supposed to take a VERY LONG TIME. Maybe I'll lose a couple of pounds from all the sweat that will pouring out of my body due to MASSIVE heartbreak. Gross, I know, but hey you never know. You know how we like to save a buck? Well, I REALLY would like to shed a pound or two without having to work for it. :)
I can't believe Trent (my oldest) had PERFECT teeth! Yay, for that.
Well, I can predict that Blakey is going to be pretty ticked when he finds out that he can't have lunch around lunchtime. :( That boy wants his lunch when it's lunchtime, by golly! He was pretty ticked last time when he had fillings and then he couldn't eat for a little while 'cause he was numb. So, it will be interesting what this brings out of him today. Faith is just so quiet and just goes with the flow, so I know she will be okay. Although, she is VERY aware of what is hapenning today, so she is quite a bit nervous. I feel really sorry for her. :(
Okay, so have a GREAT day and get some "frugal," good shopping in for me too, k?
Thanks!
Cheryl
Tassimo Brewbot
Okay, so I was checking this thing out. At first I thought it was kinda spendy, but upon looking at it a little further I'm thinking ..........................that if you are "hot" drink kinda person and you love your hot drinks like: Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, espressos, lattes, etc., then, I'm thinking the Tassimo Brewbot might just be for you. It does all of that and then some.
Tassimo is a home-delivery coffee service. You can order this Brewbot for $99.95 (that's $30 off of the suggested retail price), plus with this you get your choice of two FREE packages of T Discs, AND your shipping and handling for this particular introductory offer is FREE! For a total savings of 50 bucks! (Of note, it does look like there may be applicable taxes).
So, if you decide you like this kind of service they will just keep shipping coffee to you every month and automatically charge your card, but if you don't want to keep this service you can cancel at ANYTIME. So, there is NO COMMITMENT. You can go right on over here if you want to take a look at it and more details.
Thanks!

My Shopping Trips Today
I went on a shopping trip today. I went to three separate stores and did four separate transactions. I went to Safeway, Macy's, and Albertsons. Total saved today was $72.02 and total spent today was $19.29!
Safeway I did three separate transactions
Transaction #1
Nature Valley Granola bars X5
-in ad coupon making them $1.77 each (must have a minimum purchase of $10)
=$8.85
-$1/2 X2
-$0.50/1
=$6.35
Okay, so as you can see my purchase before coupons was well-below $10. I had also tried to purchase some Afrin that was on clearance for $6-something with 50% off of that, making it $3-something. I had a printable for $3/1. Well, since he had to manually input the price of the Afrin the computer does not recognize it and he said that I couldn't use my coupon because it would take the price of my item down to more than 50% off. I have had this battle with him before, so I just said to take it off of my purchase. I didn't feel like "arguing." So, then I was concerned it was going to mess up my Safeway coupon, but it didn't. I STILL was able to use my Safeway coupon with no problem. So, I paid a total of $6.35 and got a Catalina back for $3.50!
Transaction #2
Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks $0.99 each X5
=$4.95
-$1/3
-$0.50/2
-$3.50 (Catalina from previous order)
=-$0.05 (he had to add the $0.05 back on my order so it was just zero)=FREE! Plus, I got back another $3.00 Catalina
Transaction #3
Nature Valley Granola bars X5
-in ad coupon making them $1.77 each (must have a minimum purchase of $10)
=$8.85
-$1/2 X2
-$0.50/1
Thin Pork Chops $5.65
-50% off clearance price=$3.99
-$3.00 Catalina from the BC Fruit Snacks
=$5.34
I still have a $3.50 Catalina to use on my next order!
Macy's
Wow, I had heard that Macy's was having some sort of a "denim sale," so I thought I would go test it out for you all and see what I could come up with. Well, it kinda blew up in my face.
So, I have NEVER shopped in Macy's before. Really thought that it was NOT my kinda store, but quickly realized that I LOVE their clearance prices! Anyway, I talked to the sales associate and asked her about the sale and she explained it to me. So, I was going to purchase some REALLY cheap denim (get a head start on school clothes for Blakey). So, I got a pair of Levi's on clearance for $9.99, but they were actually 25% off of that, so that made them $6.99. Okay, so I WAS supposed to get back a $10 card to use on my next purchase. My plan was to go ahead and roll this as many times as I could to get some FREE and cheap clothes for the kiddos. Well, I get up there and I have to deal with this other person. I told him that I was dealing with the other lady about the coupon/gift card "thingy." So, he tells me well that already ended and your total is $6.99. NO explanation or ANYTHING. So, again, out of my comfort zone, I do not battle with the evil forces of Macy's. :) I go on my pouty way and go pout in my car. I call my husband and I am ticked. Do I go back in and make a fuss? I REALLY DID get a good deal anyway, but my whole purpose was to get the $10 card. Do I go back in or not? Well, he says, it's okay just move on and know that you STILL got a good deal. Well, there is my answer. I don't know about you, but I usually, for some reason, DO the TOTAL opposite of what he suggests. So, I GO back in. I'm gonna do this. Well, I thought I would go look at the sign just so I have a little proof. Well, I'm sure glad I looked at the sign BECAUSE the sale ended yesterday! So, I quietly take myself out of the store with my pants and I am happy BECAUSE I did get a good deal. I saved 15 bucks! I know I know, I really should have made a fuss because that sign was still up, but what the heck I got a good deal. Not as good as I wanted, but it was still a good deal.
So, at Macy's total spent was $7.60 (including tax) and total saved was $15!
Okay, so now onto Albertsons. Really, why do I punish myself and go to Argonne and Trent? Why? They just tick me off EVERY time I go in. They are just so close to my house and when the roads are bad or I am running short on time this is where I go.
Okay, so this is what I do.....
Wholy Guacamole $1.99 X3
-$2/1 X3
=FREE
Kellogg's Fiber Plus Cereal $2 X3
-$1/1 X3
-Three Doublers
Free cereal bowl when you purchase ANY two Kellogg's cereals.
TOOP (Total out of pocket) ZERO!!! Total saved was $20.04!
I hope you are getting some good shopping in. :)

Product Comments
Well, this is the start of a new year and what a better way to start it out than to start product comments again.
If you are new to this, here is what we are doing. I will e-mail a few companies about products that my family and I enjoy/like with compliments. Sometimes they are so happy with your positive feedback that they will send you a coupon in the mail to use on your next purchase of "their" item. It is a GREAT way to give positive feedback to the companies that make products that you enjoy and a GREAT way to get a coupon or two. If you have any suggestions on companies, please let me know. Anyway, I will put a link in these posts to the company that we are complimenting and I will share with you what I wrote. You can either use "my" compliment or send one of your own. I make it pretty easy for you.
Okay, here is our first one for 2011....
Blue Diamond-I want to thank you for making such a great product. My family loves Blue Diamond products. They are a great, healthy snack for us. We look forward to enjoying them for a longtime. Thanks! Cheryl
Okay, good luck!

Cold Medicine Laws for Washington State
Hey, just an FYI. It looks like there has been a few changes to some laws here in Washington. For example, you can only purchase three bottles of Nyquil per transaction, one Theraflu capsule, and then you on top of all of that you cannot purchase Mucinex in the same transaction of Theraflu. So, just a heads up when you are making your cold medicine purchases. I'm not exactly sure what changes, but this is what my momma had dealt with today when trying to stock up on her cold medicines.
Anyone have anymore info about this?
Thanks!

New Year's Resolutions
I don't know about you, but I don't normally make new year resolutions, as I am not good about keeping stuff like that. Well, this year, I have decided to make a couple.....
1. Be more organized with life, work, and blogging.
2. Keep and up-to-date summary of spendings and savings.
3. I do have a third one.......................GET BACK ON TRACK WITH MY WEIGHT LOSS!!!!!!!
That's it. I REALLY need to be more organized and I REALLY want to keep track of my spendings and savings. I think that I/we can be EVEN more frugal this year.
What do you have in store for this year? Are you making any resolutions?
Happy new year!!!

on Sunday. Yep, took myself and the family into Weight Watchers this morning, but I was a coward (as my husband would gladly tell you) and I did NOT weigh-in. NO WAY, NO HOW was I going to weigh-in. I knew I would be getting VERY bad news. I did NOT do good last week. I REALLY fell off of the wagon BIG TIME. I was/am a true addict. I now have NOTHING standing in my way now. We have a couple of birthdays coming in the next few months, but they are NOT going to derail me. I just got a notice that registration is open for Bloomsday, so I am going to be working towards that. Last year was our first year EVER doing Bloomsday and so this year will be our second year and we are going to do it as a family. Last year it was my husband, my son, myself, my brother-in-law, and my sister-in-law. This year it will be my husband, myself, and our three kiddos.
Anyway, I have no excuses now. I did good on the new plan until Christmas and then I just got caught up in eating whatever I wanted, when I wanted.
Anyway, I'm ready......BRING IT ON!!!! I am going to WIN this battle and I am GOING TO KICK BUTT! Anyone else out there want to jump on my wagon? Want to share your struggles and successes? Come on, come join me! I would love more partners on this journey.:)
