**Kellogg's Cereal Recall**

Kellogg’s just issued a voluntarily recall of select packages of Kellogg’s Corn Pops, Honey Smacks, Froot Loops and Apple Jacks cereals. You should NOT eat the recalled products because they do not meet quality standards…The cereal was recalled due to the fact an off-flavor and smell was coming from the bag. Apparently, Kellogg’s has identified a substance in the package liners that can produce an uncharacteristic waxy-like off taste and smell.
Below is a list of the recalled cereals:
(NOTE: Only products with the letters "KN" following the Better If Used Before Date are included in the recall. Products with a "KM" designation are NOT included in the recall. In addition, no products in Canada are affected.)

This recipe is courtesy of my friend, Foblover4. :)

Fruit Dip
(1) 8oz brick of cream cheese
(1) small jar of marshmello creme
a tablesoon of so of grenadine (not sure if thats spelled correctly) just eyeball it,
and thats it!

It the best fruit dip I've ever had in my life! You've got to try it.

Oh, believe me, I'm gonna try it!:) This sounds soooooo good. I'm thinking a little bit of strawberries and maybe some apples with this!

Thanks for sharing your recipe Foblover4!

Recipe=Tracy's Variation of Angel Food Cake

Here is a recipe from my friend, Tracy.

Here is a great summer recipe that is virtually nonfat!!! Quick, simple and LOVE IT!!!

Angel food cake, sliced long way to make layers, 2 or 3 layers is good. (angle food cake is fat free)
Fresh fruit of any kind, I prefer strawberries as that is what we grow a ton of, but any fruit would be good.
Fat free/sugar free lemon instant pudding, small package.
Fat free/sugar free whipped topping (frozen) kind (large container)

I mix the pudding and the whipped topping together, usually judgement call on how much whipped topping I want and how lemony for the flavor, and then put those in-between the layers of the cake and some on top of course and then add the fresh fruit after slicing a piece and put it on the top or the side of the cake. You have an instant quick dessert!

This sounds really good!

Thanks Tracy!

Recipe=Adriano's Summer Chicken and Grape Salad

This is a recipe from my friend, Adriano.

This is absolutely delicious and great in the summer, especially when the grapes go on sale for .99/#!

Dressing:
1 c. mayo
1 t. apple cider vinegar
5 t. honey
2 t poppy seeds
ground pepper, to taste

Salad:
2# boneless, skinless chicken breast
3/4 c. pecan pieces, toasted
2 c. red seedless grapes
3 stalks celery, thinly sliced

Prepare the dressing by thoroughly mixing together all dressing ingredients in a bowl. Refrigerate until ready to dress the salad. (Can be prepared up to 2 days ahead.)

Preheat oven to 375. Place chicken in one layer in a baking dish with 1/2 c. water. Cover with foil and bake 25 min. until completely cooked through. Remove cooked chicken breasts from baking pan, cool at room temperature for 10 min. then cover and refrigerate.

When breasts are chilled (at least 2 hours in refrigerator), dice into bite-sized pieces and transfer to large bowl. Stir in pecans, grapes, celery, and dressing.

I mix it with lettuce to make it go a bit further sometimes, although it's great all by itself, too!

This sounds really really yummy! I LOVE grapes!

Thanks Adriano!

Garden Update

Well, as I have shared with most you, I have no green thumb whatsoever, but through a lot of trial and errror, so far, and with the AWESOME help of my mom, this is what we have........

No, that is not lettuce growing there to your right. Yes, those are weeds we haven't pulled yet. Actually, my mom came over a pulled a ton of weeds just a couple of weeks ago, and now they need to be pulled AGAIN! Look in the second row of black there, towards the bottom, there is a bigger plant. That is my cauliflower. I grew that from seed.  I actually grew a lot from seed, but not very many plants took to my garden. I hear that is a pretty common problem this year. So, we (my mom)  have planted and they have died and we have planted again. So, now I have just been buying plants little-by-little. I do really like this whole setup though, thanks to my dad.

Okay, so this next picture is a picture of my peas that I grew from seed.......

Look at those babies! They look AWESOME!!! Yes, I started these from seed and their still ALIVE!!!

Okay, this next picture is a picture of the corn that we, again, grew from seed, but these ones we just put the seed right in the ground and this is what we have come up with......

Thse are looking GREAT! Like I said before, I didn't start these in the house like all my others, but started these straight in the ground. Not bad for my first run. :)

Okay, so, here are my tomato plants, most of them purchased as most of the 40 or so plants that I started inside did not take to the freezes that we had recently.......

Yes, mom just planted these a couple of weeks ago and they are not doing to shabby. I was able to pick these up at my "favorite" Walmart store for $1 each. I bought 10 of them!

Okay, this next picture is a picture of one of my very few (three or four) tomato plants that made it. I started them from seed, in the house, and now look at this pretty baby......

On, here is one more picture to show you...These are summer squash and zucchini squash that I, once again, started in the house and seem to be doing fairly well......

Some of the plants that I started in the house that didn't make it were:  Jalepenos, mixed peppers (green, red, purple, yellow), carrots, tomatos, cauliflower. I had a lot, but many lessons have been learned. I am not going to start my garden, from now on, until June. I can't devote that much time and money into having to redo it and redo it again. I'm still teetering back and forth of whether or not to start from seed in the house or not. Plus, I still have much much more to learn. You know, it doesn't really help when I get to look out my window and compare my garden to this, of my neighbor's.....

Okay, so now take a look at mine and mine doesn't EVEN come close to her beauty. I REALLY REALLY have garden envy and really hope that some of her garden mojo blows my way. :) Isn't that just a beautiful garden? I am sooooo jealous. When I grow up, I hope to have plants that look like that. :)

Just thought I would share my update with you all. I can't wait until it actually starts getting produce.

Thanks!

Cheryl
