Have you done this before? Many of the local school disctricts have the FREE summer nutrition program going on right now. I have pulled up a few links to some schools in Spokane. So, what this is is a "no cost federeally reimbursed summer program." I can't remember all the details of it, but they really encourage you to bring your children in and have some lunch or breakfast. NO, you do not have to qualify. It's for ALL children ages 1 to 18! You don't have to be low-income. You could be a millionaire and still take your kiddos in to have a FREE meal. I haven't taken my kids yet this year, we have been sooooooo busy and most schools just started last week. The kids really like it though, and to tell you the truth, as a mommy I REALLY like it too; 'cause you know what that means?.....Well, it means I don't have to make lunch!!!☺ My kids really like it because they get to eat lunch at school. What I have done in the past is take them to the free movies (now $1 movies) at the Valley Mall and then I would take them over to get lunch and that was sooooo much fun for them at no cost to me except gas and now maybe a $1 each for the movie. Oh, by the way, you can go to ANY of the schools that offer this program. You don't have to belong to their school district. There are only a couple of rules....
1) You MUST be a child, age 1 to 18, to be able to get a FREE meal.
2) The kids need to eat the meal there.
They serve breakfast and lunch Monday through Thursday and there is a schedule. So, you might want to check out the different schedules and see which one maybe fits in your schedule. There is also a menu.....
Here is the schedule and menu for both East Valley and West Valley....

Spokane Public Schools (There is no information yet on this site)
Please share this information, especially if you know of anybody that could use a little extra help with meals and such. This is completely FREE and gets the kiddos a meal in their tummies.
Thanks!
