Today,

I am going to be in an out for most of the day as it is my little guy's birthday and I am going to spend the day with him. Don't know what we are going to do yet, but we are just going to spend some quality time together. Wow, he is turning 4, I can't believe it. Time just flies when you are having fun. Need Dinner in a Pinch?

Well, go on over here to the Betty Crocker website. Go click on Easy Meal Finder. It is a great tool. It asks you to enter up to three ingredients that you have on hand. You input the ingredients that you have and then it comes back with recipes that you can make and they are EASY! I did this last night and came up with a GREAT tasting dinner. My kids LOVED it. This is what we came up with...

Yep, it looked just like that. :) No, I'm kidding. Here is the recipe if you are interested. I made up my own variation of it and we just loved it. This is what I did and made it to about 4 points for my whole dinner.

I cooked up the chicken like it says, but used a little "healthy" oil instead of butter. Then, I have my own stash of a homemade "cream of" soup that I use when something calls for "cream of" soup or gravy, like this one calls for. It is pretty much "free" in points. Then, I cut up some potatoes, carrots, brocolli, and mushrooms. I really LIKE garlic, so I added in some garlic powder and garlic salt (yep, I LOVE salt too). Anyway, we ate this over one cup of bulgar and there you have it. That was my yummy BIG dinner at about 4 points. I cut the chicken breasts in half as they were quite big. I figured 2 points for the chicken, 1 point for the veggies (because of the potato), and 1 point for the one cup of bulgar. Yum, it was so tasty. Anyway, just thought I would share.

You know, I was just thinking, while I was treadmilling. Albertsons has their (Albertsons) brand, shredded cheese, 10 for $10. I don't know about you, but I can NEVER find fat free mozzarella cheese ANYWHERE, but I HAVE found it at Albertsons in their brand. So, this would be a great time for those of you in need of fat free mozzarella cheese or any of their other cheeses that they have. The fat-free mozzarella cheese is 1 point per serving of 1/4 of a cup. These are GREAT for your homemade personal pizzas or whatever you like your cheese on. It is also considered a filling food. So, not too bad. These freeze really well too.

Well, apparently there is a big controversy about the Cat and the sale price at Fred Meyer. I just read today on The Krazy Coupon Lady that Fred Meyer has pulled their Catalina deal, as some people were buying or using coupons to get free product and then turning around and selling them for profit. Apparently, people have been buying it in mass quantities and clearing the shelves. So, just be aware that the Cat might not work anymore. I have not confirmed that, but from what people are commenting, it sounds like they have spoken with "the Kroger" people and this is what they were told.

I searched Hot Coupon World & it looks like this catalina doesn't end until March 7th, so if your Fred Meyer is out - be sure to get a rain check!

She was able to buy the Free & Clear and roll the catalina (you'll need to add a filler item to your second transaction as it is not quite $4.00). However, when I bought the blue bottle (see picture) I did NOT receive a catalina.

Also, for some reason the catalina beeps when you use it. She read the catalina and the only exclusions are "Rx and items prohibited by law" - my Kikkoman catalina also beeped, so I'm thinking it's just a problem with all of these catalinas. Your cashier should be able to push it through (as long as your total is $4.00 or more).

Me (Cheryl) talking now~I did this yesterday and it worked for me. The only problem I had was that the cashier would NOT let me roll my Catalina because it "beeped." She said that I would have to come back tomorrow. So my suggestion, as it has been such a hit and miss for most people, is to do one transaction and then take them out to your car and come back in and do it again with a different cashier. Also, I did what has been suggested and only purchased the Free and Clear 50 ounce bottle and I got the Catalina.

Okay, good luck!! Oh, also, if your Fred Meyer is out, don't forget to get a raincheck as the Catalina is said to run through March. I also heard that there is supposed to be a B1G1 free in the inserts this weekend. Don't know if this is going to be in our area, but it would help if it were.
