I have found quite a few good deals at Safeway.
You can load E-coupons to your Safeway card and use them on your items at Safeway. It's great. Also, from what I understand, you can use a paper coupon too. Some people have had good luck with this and some other people have not. A tip that I recent read, I think it was on Frugal Chic Living's blog that I saw this, was to scan your Safeway card at the end of your purchase.

Walgreens
Walgreens is a GREAT place to get good value for your money.
They have Register Rewards. This are very valuable in the art of couponing. Register Rewards are coupons that you get back for buying certain items in the store. You buy that item that has a Register Reward linked and you can use that Register Reward on your next purchase. It's great!!!
A Register Reward is like store credit. There are many different aspects of getting a Register Reward to print and utilizing them to maximize your full benefit. These are very beneficial in getting your stockpile stocked or whatever else you may like.
Okay, so this is what I understand about them.
1. There are weekly Register Rewards, which are rewards that can only be earned that week of the sale, Sunday through Saturday.
2. There are monthly Register Rewards, which are rewards that can be earned during that whole month.
3. Find out about these by looking in the Walgreens ad on Sunday and you will see whatever has the weekly rewards in the ad. For example, let's say there is a reward for Dawn dishsoap. It will say buy 1 Dawn dish soap for $2, get $1 RR, Like paying $1. So, they are saying you buy one dish soap and you get $1 RR back (after you pay), and that's like paying $1 because they are paying you $1 RR to use on anything you want on your next order.
4. Okay, so now you have your $1 RR and you want to use it. Here are a couple of tips.........You got that RR from the Dawn, which I think might be a Procter and Gamble item. Well, you really got that RR from P&G, so in order for you get another reward, which I'm sure that is what you want. You cannot use it on a another item that is printing out RRs that is from P&G or it will not print for you. You can look at your RR and it will say something like "courtesy of PG." So, just look at the back of what you are purchasing and you can tell who the maker is. So, the advice here is to not use the RR on a transaction that has the same maker as the RR you are using. Make sense? I know, it is a little confusing. This is also called rolling your rewards, because you are using your old ones and trying to get new ones.
