Walgreens=$0.19 Deodorant

Just got back from Walgreens. Had to use my free Excedrin coupon before it expired this weekend. So, I was shopping around and they have their Right Guard deodorants on clearance for $1.19. This was the Walgreens on Argonne and Trent, so pulled out my coupon for $2/2 Right Guard and paid $0.40 for two deodorants. That is a GREAT deal!

Reminder~

I just wanted to share with you all that I went to Rite-Aid last night (AGAIN). That is my fourth time this week. They have GREAT deals this week. Anyway, I had went the night before to a different one and the "boy" was just awful. He proclaimed to me that "I HATE COUPONS!" He was not very nice at all. He was not happy with me because I was buying the B1G1 free makeup (Covergirl) and had my B1G1 free coupons. I don't know why, but he couldn't look up the price without voiding my transaction to use for the coupon. So, he had to have my transaction voided and then ring it up again. Oh, he was not happy. He was slamming my items around and then just stated that he hated coupons, and then he called the other girl over so she could ring my order up. Well, she was with another customer and she never came. I told him that I could help him figure it out and explained to him, after telling him that I was sorry that he hated coupons and that I was just trying to save money (I tried to be really nice to him). He said that I was already getting my makeup at B1G1 free, so I told him that yes I was, but I wanted to use my coupons on the other one that I was buying, essentially getting them both free. I had my handy dandy little coupon policy and pulled it out and asked him if he needed me to show him their policy. He told me no he didn't. Anyway, after explaining to him that he should ring one thing up at a time and then write down the price of the item on the coupon, and then at the end to take it off, then, he finally did it. Boy, he was not happy. By the time I left though, I think we were "okay." He even took my cart back for me. Anyway, I really just tried to kill him with kidness and had my policy handy.

(I did call the 800 customer service number and made a complaint yesterday morning. This is the second time I have had to call and complain for the way that I was treated while trying to use my coupons. I really feel that it is important to let them know as they could potentially lose a customer. If this is what I am thinking, how many other people are thinking the same thing? I do not deserve to be treated that way, especially if I am trying to be nice and helpful too).

Okay, so now, I went to a different Rite-Aid last night. The lady was REALLY REALLY nice. We got to talking and she explained to me that there was a lady in there the night before (a couponer) and she was just a horrible, nasty lady (her words, not mine). She said that she was really nasty because she wanted her order for free and wanted to pay absolutely nothing. Now, there is nothing wrong with that, as that is what most of us shoot for. But, she stated that she had "all" of her coupons scattered out on the counter and was being very confusing to the cashier and trying "pull one over" on them, and just being very rude. She was telling me how she was trying to use more than one coupon for things and you can't do that (not true, but I didn't have the heart to correct her) and said this coupon was for that, oh no it was for that one. Anyway, they were not happy with her and in-turn not happy with us (couponers). I apologized and said I was very sorry that they had to deal with that. I told her that not all couponers are that way and that we are just trying to keep as much money in our pockets as we can.

Now, I'm not sure of the circumstances as I have had a few not pleasant experiences with Rite-Aid, so no judgement on my end here. But, a few things I wanted to remind people of is to play fair (be honest), PRINT OUT THE STORE COUPON POLICY (I have had to pull the Rite-Aid one out three or four different times), and be nice. I know the be nice is not always easy, but just try to smile through the whole thing and kill them with kindness. This should be be fun not stressful (as I am often feeling when I go couponing).

I am also going to program a few of the stores 800 numbers in my phone so I have them on hand.

Also, yesterday, when I was talking with my customer service friend at the 800 Rite-Aid number (not really, but we were on the phone awhile talking coupons, yes, he was even interesting in my couponing). Anyway, I was talking to him about the Rite-Aid Video Values coupons. I had stated to him that on their coupon policy it says we can use them in addition to a manufacture coupon, but on the coupon it says "not to be combined with any other offer." He said, he had no idea why that was on there, but it was not true and that you CAN use it with a manufactured coupon.

So, anyway, there is my huge post, but I just really wanted to share my experiences this week. Now, I'm off go getting ready for the day and GOIN' SHOPPING with my shopping partner, Blakey!

Just go here, click on the “Entertainment” category on the left hand side and then you should see all the coupon booklet offers.
