What's a coupon database?
I get asked this question a lot. Have you seen this little blinking icon on the right-hand side of my blog....

Well, this is a searchable coupon database. You ask what a searchable coupon database is? Well, let me tell ya'. It's actually pretty cool. Let's say you are checking someone's blog out, maybe mine? And, you see that I (or whomever you may be checking out) has done matchup and you see this......
Pert Plus 3-in-1 Travel Size Shampoo $0.97 X6
-$1/1 Pert Plus 3-in-1 or 2-in-1 Products from 5/15 SS X6
=$0.18 overage!!! That is $0.03 overage for each one!
Let me tear this apart, a little, and explain what this means.....
1. It means that the travel size Pert Plus, 3-in-one shampoo cost $0.97 and I bought six of them.
2. I used six of the coupons that say it is for $1 off of 1 Pert-Plus, 3-in-1 or 2-in-1 products, from the May 15th Smart Source insert.
3. I got a total of $0.18 overage for my purchase.
Now, let's say you want to get in on this deal, but let's say that I did not put the date of when the coupon came in the insert and I did put which insert it came out of, so now you have no clue where to look. Well, then, you go on over here to the "searchable coupon database" ....

You will see this....
You see where it says "description?" Well you go and click in there and type what you are looking for. In this case, you would type Pert Plus, now it will pull up ALL the places that people have registered with weusecoupons.com of where coupons are located. It will give you links to printables, it will tell you if they found them on pealies, hangtags, which inserts and the dates, when they expire, etc. It really is a great tool when you are trying to locate a coupon. I did it for the Pert Plus, so you could see....
Look at what it pulled up when I just put "Betty Crocker" in.....
Go ahead, go on over here and play around with it. It really is a handy dandy little tool and does save a ton of time.
If for some reason you get lost and end up on the home page, you can go up here and click on "find coupons" and the coupon database will come up.....
I hope this helps you. I use it and I use it often.
Thanks WUC!

Kiddo Moment
This is soooooo funny! Well, I think it is....Remember a month or so ago when I shared a few of the letters that Faith had written me and her dad? Well, guess what? I got another one today. ☺ This little girl can get me soooooo frustrated at times, but dang she is soooooo CUTE!!! I JUST LOVE HER TO PIECES!!! ☺ When I do get upset with her I feel guilty because she IS so sweet. Anyway, we had ANOTHER tiff this morning. The weather is rainy and a little on the not-so-warm side today. Well, for her anyway. She is really thin and very petite, and she gets cold REALLY easy. Anyway, since it was rainy and whatnot I figured she could wear shorts today and some shoes with socks. Well, if Faith could have her way, she would wear a skirt or dress EVERYDAY. She is really really girlie and that is what she LOVES. Well, I suggested that she wear shorts today. Well, let me tell you.......my bad. How dare I suggest that she wear shorts?!!! She WANTS to wear a dress!!!! I told her my reasoning and she had a cow. So, she asked me if she could wear a dress that looks like a tennis-type, sporty dress thingy. So, I said yes and then I told her the shoes that she should wear with it. Well, she comes back down to me and says the dress is too big. I say, we can put a T-shirt underneath it and that would be fine. Well, now she doesn't want to wear the stinkin' dress. Apparently, I am irritating her at this point. So, then I tell her that I am not talking about it anymore with her and that she is to find some shorts and wear those. We keep going back and forth. I tell her that now I am irritated, so to just leave me be for a little bit. (I'm trying to work too). She decides to wear the blue dress after all now. Then, I tell her what shoes to put on. Well, the shoes at AT SCHOOL! WHAT?!! So, I let her know that I am still frustrated with her and that she needs to quit leaving her stuff at school (school is only in session one more week). So, after a little time passes by.....Oh, so anyway I am still frustrated and she leaves me be. I have to add that there was NO crying in this tiff, but here is the letter that I got.....
I will translate again.....(THIS IS SOOOOO CUTE, SWEET, AND FUNNY)
I am so so so so sorry for what I did. I will bring my PE shoes home today. I just want to say I am so sorry. Can I have a Crunch bar? I am crying so hard I just want to say I love you with all my heart and even in my soul.
She is sooooo dramatic, which I think is a girl thing, but she just cracks me up. So, she is so sorry and she's going to bring her PE shoes home today, oh, but while she's thinking about it she'd better ask if she can have a Nestle Crunch bar. REALLY? Oh, that REALLY makes me laugh!! This one (letter) REALLY is a keeper.
I love all my letters that she gives me. I can't wait to share them with her when she gets older.
Just thought I would share.....

Garden Season.....
Well, it's that time of the year again. I told myself that after my first garden experience last year that I would not start planting until June and that I would not start plants inside. Well, I stuck to both of those and now I feel like I'm behind the ball?? I don't think I really am, but who knows? I guess we will find out. My dad came up last week and and he tilled my garden area for us (thanks dad). Now, we are left to do the rest of the work on our own. Last year he helped us put the hoses in and put the plastic down, but he has been sooooo busy with his work that the rest was left to us, which is good because we need to learn how to do it on our own, right? My allergies have been really really really bad this year, so I have been slow, myself, in getting outside too. So, my husband said that he and the kids would get the hose laid in and then I could come out and help with the plastic.
After about an hour or two seeing that they had only one row of hose in, I couldn't handle it anymore and had to go help. Bless their hearts, they sure were trying, but I really needed to be out there. So, I went out and helped. My allergies still got me, but not nearly as bad as they would have last week.
So, we did it! We got the hoses in and put the plastic on top and now we are ready to plant. Well, we will be in a couple of days. After we do all of this, we have to leave the water on for two days to make sure that the ground gets saturated under the plastic, so the soil is ready for us to start planting. So, needless to say, we will be ready this week!
If you are new to reading about my garden (were not able to read last year), my dad has "connections" and is able to get us some AWESOME material that THE big farmers use over in the Columbia Basin area so we can have a successful garden with low maintenance. They are so generous to my dad and us (THANK YOU!!!). Anyway, there is a specific farmer that uses this material and throws some my dad's way to send our way. Isn't that just so nice? Anyway, this particular farmer uses this disposable hose type thingy. It looks like bicycle tire tubing on a wheel. So, we make a little trench type thing and then we take this tubing and measure it out (as long as we want our rows) (you can see it in the first picture above. It's that black "stuff" lying in the grass). Then, we just cut it with a knife or something sharp, tie in a knot at the end of the row, and hook it to this hose thingy that is NOT disposable, that my dad gave us. Then, we just throw some dirt on top of it and we are done with that row. Then, we take this BIG HUGE roll of black plastic, but it is not plastic. It almost looks like vinyl or something. It is lightweight stuff. Anyway, we take this and unroll it to the length that we want it, making sure that the hose that we laid is going to be in the center under the plastic. Again, we cut it with something sharp, and then we just make sure that there is no air underneath. Then, we start covering the edges with dirt and pack it a little. After we are done, we have to turn the water on for two days and make sure that the ground gets saturated under the "plastic." Then, we are ready to roll. Now the purpose of this hose and plastic......well, the hose, when we are ready to water we just turn the water on for a day or two and it will water my garden. I don't have to do ANYTHING just turn my water on and all the rows get watered from underneath, which apparently is better. Then, the plastic holds all the weeds out around my plants and keeps the warmth in the soil and they REALLY like that too. Now, I just need to figure out what to do about the weeds in between the rows. I think I'm going to try to figure out how to put some plastic in between the rows too? I dunno.
Anyway, last year I got a whole bunch of tomato plants at Big R when they had their BIG clearance, but I couldn't wait this year, BUT they still were the cheapest that I came across when pricing tomato plants and other vegetable plants too! Look at what we got.....

We bought quite a few tomato plants, some lettuce, brussel sprouts, celery, and some other stuff too! The price you ask? $1.29!!! Yes, I am very very pleased with the price! It was the cheapest I found. If you are interested, this was at the Big R on Trent and Vista! I'm ready to start plantin'.......
Do you have any garden tips?
