AWESOME Blog.....

Okay, I don't know how I came across this, 'cause I'm supposed to be workin', but I came across the most wonderful, feel-good blog ever this morning. I know it's not coupon or deal related, but it sure did make me feel good. Well......and made me cry too. As I have shared with you before, I am very very very fond of our military people. They make such huge sacrifices for us and I am so very thankful to each and every one of them as well as their families.

Anyway, I found this blog and started watching and couldn't stop. This blog is called.... Welcome Home Blog. It is a blog dedicated to sharing videos of soldiers upon their return home. You know, surprising family, friends, and even their pups? You should go check it out. I think you will like it. Here's a video that I found of one of our local heros coming home and surprising his wife and kiddos at an Indians baseball game......

This video takes you straight to the You-Tube video, but I put links in other parts of my post to take you to the actual blog. I hope you like it as much as I do. ☺ Make sure you watch the one with the BIG doggie welcoming his soldier home. It really is adorable!

Thanks!

Good morning!

Hey there!

What an AWESOME vacation! It was sooooo nice to be able to spend a week with my family. Sooooooo many stories to tell. I have been checking my e-mail for the past hour and a half. Lots of e-mails. I already have a TON of work to do! Ugh. I am thankful I have it, but REALLY? It is soooo hard to get back to work after a nice vacation. My fingers won't move, I am a bit tired (I couldn't sleep last night), and I'm a bit sluggish to wake-up this morning. ☺It looks like I took OVER 300 pictures! WOW!!!

Did I miss any good deals? I feel like I'm a bit out of the loop. ☺ Okay, so where I went is a very small place in Wyoming. The town has 5,000 or so people in it. So, it's pretty small. They have two "grocery" stores. No big chain stores. These grocery stores are local and man do they know they have no competition! I was a bit floored when I picked up a box of cereal (JUST to see the price) and saw that it cost $5.14!!! What?! Are you kidding me?! $5.14??!!! A box of 2-Go Crystal Light.....$4.49!!!! Luckily, we had brought most of our groceries with us. I had taken a couple boxes of dry cereal....so no cereal needed by us, but WOW!!! I couldn't believe it. They did, however, have a Family Dollar. So, I went in an checked it out. I was really excited because we don't have one here. Well, I quickly learned that I wasn't missing too much, but let me tell you.....if I lived there nowadays, I sure would be a Family Dollar shopper. Seriously, most of the people drive to a little bigger town about 20 miles or so away to buy their groceries at Walmart. I don't blame them one bit!

Anyway, we were very happy to get some spend time with my grandpa and two of my uncles. It was very fun, but sad too. My grandpa has always been a very strong, hard-working, and independent man and now to see him where he has to depend on others to help him get around and get his meals fixed and whatnot, was a shocker to me. I know he is older now and this comes with his age and whatnot, it was just a shocker to actually see. Many many kudos to my uncles for taking care of him though!!!!

You know, it has been YEARRRS since I have seen a mosquito or have been blood-sucked by one. Well, I found out that I am "sweet" by going back to my birth place. I came home with 11 miserable, red, itchy mosquito bites. I felt like a dog. You know, when they just can't quite get that itch. Oh, that was me. I was just scratchin' and a scratchin' away. I had totally forgot about this, but back in the day, when I was a kid, "they" used to come through town in a truck with a sprayer on the back and spray for mosquitoes. Well, they still do that there. Those little pesky buggers are awful there. You don't dare sit outside and talk or you run the risk of smacking yourself all over. I learned that very quick. It's kinda funny, but irritating at the same time. ☺ Oooooh, they are awful. Now, the kiddos didn't get bit, but us "adults" sure did.

Anyway, we had a nice road trip. It seriously was a GREAT bonding time with my husband, my kiddos, and my parents. It really was so nice to get away and be with my family. It was so nice to have all that way JUST to talk with my husband in the car. It was fun with the kiddos too, but they were busy watching DVDs, listening to music, singing, or whatever fancied their little hearts, while my husband and I sat in the front seat JUST talking. What a GREAT time! We seriously enjoyed listening to the two little ones in the backseat have conversation. At one point, I think it was going through Yellowstone, we hear from the backseat (from Faith)......."Daddy....Blakey just made me drink water he spit in." Okay, I'm sorry, but that was REALLY funny.☺ We could hear him say....."you wanna drink of my water?" She drinks.....he says...."I just spit in it." "TJ you wanna drink of my water? Daddy you want a drink of my water?" She's in the backseat telling everyone not to take a drink 'cause he just spit in it. Oh, those two. I tell ya' they just crack me up.☺ No, he didn't really spit in the water, he was just "tricking" us.

Okay, well I best get to work.........

I will chat with you a little later and share some pictures too. ☺

Hey all.....

Hey everyone. So, I have been dropping little hints here and there this past month that I have been working super duper extra hard so my family and I can go on vacation. Well, the time is here. I am sooo excited, although I am SUPER tired. I have been getting up at 2 (if I sleep in then 3) in the morning to work and I have not had a day off in 21 days! Yah, I'm a bit pooped. I'm thinking I REALLY earned this vacation! ☺ Anyway, when I finish up this post I am finally going to jump in the shower today and get myself cleaned up to to the store and spend some Up Rewards that are going to be expiring tomorrow on a few things for the road. We have a long ride ahead of us as we are going to my home state of Wyoming. Anyway, then I'm off for the week. I'm am fully taking this week off. I really need this time with my family as they have been so neglected by me this past month, as I have been working so much. Thank goodness for my husband, my older son, and my in-laws (and my two littlest people). They have all been a GREAT help. We knew that this was going to happen so we were prepared, but I'm not sure my body was.

Anyway, I am soooo stoked about this trip as we are taking it with my momma, my dad, and my husband and kids. It's gonna be a caravan-type thing. We've got walkie talkies and all kinds of fun stuff. Anyway, we are headed out to go see my grandpa. He is getting up there in age and I want my kids to spend some good quality time with him. You  know? Make some memories? My grandpa is 94 and a BIG BIG love of my life! Anyway, we are going to see him for a few days and then we will come back home through Yellowstone! It's going to be so fun, hot (90ยบ), and stinky (sulfur smell in Yellowstone).

Anyway I hope you all have a great week and I can't wait to come back and share some AWESOME stories with you all!

Look what came to my door today.....

Remember that Glidden paint giveaway that I told you about here? Well, I just wanted to show you what landed on my doorstep today.....

Yes, that there is my FREE quart of Glidden paint!

My goal here was to show you that it really does pay to put in for those freebies that we bloggers post about. Now, not all of them will make it to your doorstep for many different reasons, but there are some that do come through and it sure is nice when they do. We will be able to use this for different projects around the house and whatnot. It's not a lot of pain, but it's more paint than what I had of this color that I DON'T have to pay our hard earned money for it. I can use my money for something else. What does a quart of Glidden paint cost anyway? I'm thinking 10-bucks or so. That is a pretty good savings on my end.

**Oh, a tip for when you do sign up for freebies and samples, n' stuff like that is to setup a "free" email account just for these offers, so that your regular e-mail does not get clogged up with a ton of spam and unwanted emails.

Wow, thanks Glidden paint for this AWESOME freebie!

TLCs Extreme Couponing

Wow, it looks like I am getting some of my blog posts back that I posted last week. You know when Blogger went down, it also took a few posts with it and they never came back? Well, it looks like some of them are coming back. Anyway, here is one of the posts....

Did you watch the episode that was highly talked about? You know the one I'm talking about? The one that caused up so much discussion about coupon fraud. Well, it aired about a month or so ago.  I believe it was the second episode in the series. I'm not sure, I can't remember. Anyway, there has been much heated discussion about a "certain" couponer that did "questionable" things on the show. I have tried not to get into it too much and have kept my opinion to myself, but I wanted to give you a heads up that there is an interview that she gave The Wall Street Journal, and if you are interested, you can go on over here and take a read......

All I have to say is.....hmmmmm....... The rest.......... I will keep to myself. ;)

Thanks!

Lack of posts

Hey, happy belated Mother's Day to all you moms out there and I am so sorry for the lack of posts the last couple of days. Believe me......I have NOT been enjoying myself. I have been really sick. :( I woke-up Sunday just fine. Got ready for WW and made a small trip to Rite Aid to get some eggs and things were fine. About 11 or so I started feeling really crummy. I just got real tired and was having stomach pain off and on. I was able to take a two-hour nap and made myself get up and I just felt like someone just wiped all the energy from me the rest of the day. It was horrible. Then, I figured at bedtime that I would go to bed and feel better in the morning. Boy, was I ever wrong. My stomach ached intermittently through the night. I got up yesterday morning to get my work done and just felt worse. So, once again, spent all day on the couch napping off and on, while Blakey talked my ear off and we "watched" some TV together. Boy, let me tell you....that little boy has a lot to say. :) He was sooooo good though. Anyway, I got up this morning and I feel soooooooo much better, as of right now. I am hoping this is going to lead to a good day. I have to feel better. I have Zumba tonight. ☺

Anyway.....Happy Tuesday!!!

Anyway, I just wanted to pass the news on just in case you were in a situation like mine and had no idea.

Do you have an addiction?

Well, let me clarify that. As a couponer, I think that we all have "favorite" things to purchase with our coupons. I have recently discovered that I have a really hard time passing up hair products that I have coupons for. Something I always relay to people when I'm talking about couponing is BC (before couponing) I used to just ALWAYS buy the cheapest hair products there were. NEVER would I buy Finesse, John Frieda, Garnier, etc. That stuff was waaaaay too expensive for me. Right? So, now that I coupon I can buy "the good" stuff and I DO, but not only do I buy "the good" stuff, IT'S USUALLY FREE or pretty darn close. Right? So, I walk into Rite Aid the other day and they have a whole bunch of John Frieda, Finesse, Got2B, Nexxus, and whatnot on clearance for 50% off, most of it still too much for me, EVEN with a coupon, EXCEPT the Got2B hair spray. So, I have a printable that was available a while back that is expiring on Monday, so I got my little coupon out and used it. I JUST had to use it. ;) I have been telling myself that I do not need shampoo, conditioner, hair spray, but seriously I just CAN'T pass up super cheap/free hair products I EVEN bought more Finesse. Hey, it was free!!! I do go through a lot of hair products and I just cannot stand the thought of having to pay for it.

So, what is your coupon addiction? I know you have one. :)

My shopping scare today....

Okay, so I stated in my last post I was supposed to head on over to Winco to get some fresh fruit for on the cheap. I hit Safeway and then went on over to Rite Aid and picked up a few things. Things are going good right now. I mean, the weather wasn't that great and the roads were pretty slick (ya, not very smart of me to be out in all of that, but we just took our time). So, things are lookin' good. I get my deal on and I'm in a great mood. Nothing to be upset about. So, I am a bit frazzled for some reason when I get up to the cash register and get done. Don't know why.

So, I'm chattin' it up with the cashier, who has started to get his wife to coupon (YAY!). Really nice guy. Anyway, he was makin' fun of my little Rite Aid card (I lost the big daddy a month or so ago). He keeps telling me I need to put it on a keychain so it doesn't get lost. Anyway, we finish up the transaction and I go on my merry way, ........or so I thought. I grab my stuff out of the cart, grab my coupon bag that weighs 22 POUNDS!! I just weighed it and that is how much it weighs! WOW!! Anyway, we go on our way to Winco. We get to Winco and Blakey gets himself unbuckled. I tell him that I am NOT even going to take my coupon bag in, so then I'm not tempted. He is all excited because we are NOT going to coupon, just gonna grab some "yummy fruit." So, I open the door and much to my suprise......I say....."Blakey......uhhh.....dude.......where's my purse?" Really, I'm asking this 4-year-old, who barely knows how to put his shoes on the right feet? Really? "Blake, have you seen my purse? Do you know where it's at?"  He says, "I don't know. I don't know where your purse is at." OH MY GOODNESS, DID I JUST WALK OFF AND LEAVE MY PURSE?!!! HOLY COW!!! Well, at least I had my priorities straight 'cause I HAD my coupon bag with me. ;) Didn't have my purse, but hey, I HAD MY COUPONS. So, I get my receipt out for Rite Aid and I call them and tell them that I was just there like five minutes ago and I left my purse in a cart up front. He tells me to hang on so he can see if he can find it. That was probably the longest minute of my life. Luckily, some nice, honest, customer turned my purse in to the cashier. A MILLION THANKS TO THE PERSON WHO TURNED MY PURSE IN!!!

So, as I'm driving to Rite Aid, I'm thinking of how lucky/smart I am to not carry my money cards, like my gift cards and debit cards, or even my license in my purse.;) I had them right in my pocket, BUT there were coupons in there and $40 cash that I have been hanging onto FOREVER. What would I do without all of those coupons that I have worked so hard at collecting OR even my 40-bucks that I have enjoyed hanging onto forever?

So, I get there and there she was waiting for my, my little black purse with all of my coupons, scissors, money and whatever stupid stuff I have in it.  But you know what? That's my stupid stuff and I am so happy and thankful that I have my "stupid" stuff back. :)

So, my husband was having a bad day at work and this was my opportunity to call him and share with him what JUST happened and kinda show him how much things could be worse. Maybe even give him a chuckle. Wow, boy was I ever greatful to just keep going on about my day with all of my "little" worries.

Just thought I would share "my" little story.

Thanks!

FIY=Fix It Yourself

Ever in a jam? Something breaks, you need it fixed, don't want to buy a new one, want to fix it yourself? Well, I have just the Website that could help you in your time of need. It is called Fix Ya (solutions for everything). Really, they have a ton of info on this website. Here is some of the info that I grabbed from their site...

ABOUT US

In 2005, too many product manufacturers were neglecting post-purchase customer support. While there were thousands of shopping sites and search engines, customers looking to repair, modify and beautify their belongings were left at a loss. This was a particularly egregious offence as so many brand name retailers were releasing new technologies unseen by the average consumer.

Frustrated by the lack of practical post-purchase information, entrepreneur Yaniv Bensadon set out to build a community resource capable of providing relevant and up-to-date troubleshooting data. Bensadon and his small team began aggregating practical product tips and providing then in one user-friendly site. This site became the home of the FixYa community.

Today, with over 20 million visitors and 1 million products in its database, FixYa continues to empower individuals to repair and improve upon their already-purchased possessions. Meanwhile, the company has since begun offering business services to manufacturers and retail businesses through its custom partnership opportunities. To see what FixYa users are saying about the site, visit the Testimonial Page.

Technical and customer support has taken a turn for the better. FixYa reduces support costs for manufacturers while placing power in the hands of the average consumer. Gone are the days of the impersonal phone support specialist or the cryptic repair manual. FixYa is a place where individuals can share real world experience and connect to provide each other practical advice. From fixing cars, to cameras, to iPhones, FixYans are part of a DIY revolution that helps empower techies, tinkerers and hobbyists across the globe.

FixYa is a venture-funded Web 2.0 company with offices in San Mateo, California. For more information, visit FixYa's blog or email a question via the contact page.

There is SOOOOOO much information on this website.

Thanks!
